Las Musas is a collective of Latinx women and otherwise marginalized people (whose gender identity aligns with femininity) writing and/or illustrating in traditional children's literature. Does this describe you? *

Traditional Publishing...

Las Musas Membership is limited to those traditionally published (see: What is a Traditional Publisher?) in the United States in the English language.

As of now, our definition limits membership to authors and illustrators working in print (Hardcover, paperback, paper-over-board) with a traditional publisher (specifically larger publishing houses).

Las Musas does not include self-published authors or those working with hybrid publishers as we simply do not have the infrastructure or knowledge to support that media form.

We also do not currently include audio only authors or author/illustrators only publishing short stories in anthologies and magazine article contributors.

Expectations...

Las Musas is a collective which runs on participation to keep all our amazing initiatives going and supporting our members. Love our podcast? That’s Musa run! Love our mentorship program? Also run by Musas. Every tweet, post, design is put together and organized by Musas. It’s a lot of fun but it’s also a lot of work. Participation is required of all Musas who receive marketing support.

Before submitting this form, take a moment to consider how much time you’ll be able to contribute and if you can fit it in while juggling a publishing year.

We will also provide you with an overview of activities before joining.

Community Standards...

Our Collective is based on mutual respect and support, and we want all Musas to feel safe and valued. As such, we expect each member to adhere to our Community Standards.

As part of these standards every potential member is vetted by our Membership Team for any behavior that might go against these Community Standards.
