Mariana Ríos Ramírez
Santiago's Dinosaurios by Mariana Ríos Ramírez and Udayana Lugo
COMING 10.27.2022

SANTIAGO'S DINOSAURIOS...

Santiago is a dinosaurio fanatic about to start first grade, but he’s not happy at all. Being the new boy, in a new school, in a new country can be scary. But when you add the fact that Santiago is Mexican AND he doesn’t speak English, a dinosaur-sized problem emerges.

It will take perseverance, creativity and sharing his love for dinosaurios for Santiago to discover a way to belong and make new amigos.

Publication by Albert Whitman & Co. is planned for Fall 2022.

ABOUT MARIANA...

Mariana Ríos Ramírez is a Mexican author living in Anderson, South Carolina with her husband, two children and a rescue Chihuahua mix dog named Rogers.

She received a degree in International Business from Tecnológico de Monterrey (México) and a double degree MBA (with specialization in International Business) in Tecnológico de Monterrey and Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, USA.

Before becoming a kidlit author, Mariana was an Entrepreneurship high school teacher for seven years and co-owned an online business about customized party decorations.

Nowadays, Mariana loves writing books for children. She particularly likes themes about diversity, perseverance, friendship, and kindness. She’s a member of SCBWI, Storyteller Academy and Rate your Story. Mariana is represented by Natascha Morris at Tobias Literary Agency.

Santiago’s Dinosaurios is Mariana’s debut picture book. She’s learned a lot about dinosaurs from her son, who wants to be a paleontologist. Her favorite dinosaurs are Triceratops and Stegosaurus.

Besides writing, Mariana is passionate about photography, which has led her to participate in some exhibitions around her area. Other hobbies include singing, traveling, watching k-dramas, and spending time with family and friends.

Three things that Mariana absolutely loves are: dogs, Chai Tea lattes, and flowers.
