Learn more about your mentor:

Preferred Age Category: YA

Preferred Genre or Sub-Genres: Romance, Rom-Com, Thriller, Dark Academia, Horror

As a mentor I love working on: Anything with a romantic subplot! I also love any kind of mystery storyline, especially if it has a plot twist that'll keep me on the edge of my seat. I'm a huge fan of outlining and revising plot, as well as asking the deep questions about what makes characters tick.

Areas of expertise/strengths as a mentor: Plotting and outlining. Dialogue. Filling in plot holes. Character development. Querying and polishing query materials.

Areas of weakness as a mentor: World building in non-contemporary settings (fantasy and sci-fi). Elevating prose. Poetry or in-verse novels.

ABOUT ELLE...

Elle Gonzalez Rose is an author from New York who’s better at writing love stories about short, queer, Latines than she is at writing bios. Her dog thinks she’s okay. She is the author of Caught in a Bad Fauxmance, 10 Things I Hate About Prom, The Girl You Know, and Marisol Acts the Part. Elle, not the dog.
