About the Las Musas Book Club
The mission of the Las Musas Book Club is to foster a love of reading diverse and inclusive stories by Latinx authors for young readers. The vibrant array of selections for the book club (middle grade and young adult) will excite even the most reluctant readers, as well as engage them in critical thinking, and increase their cultural awareness and personal creativity. Plus, it's just fun! After reading each novel, your book club will be eligible for a free virtual visit with the author, sure to be an enriching, interactive experience.
How to Participate
Step 1: Start a student chapter at your school or organization, and register your chapter using this form.
Step 2: Read at least two books by our participating Musas per semester

How do I schedule my virtual author visit?
Click on the contact link beneath each book cover to get in touch directly with the author. Let them know you are an active chapter of the Las Musas Book Club and would like to schedule a free virtual visit.
What can I expect from the free virtual author visits?
Each visit will be a 30-minute Q&A about the author and their book.
How should I prepare for the free virtual author visit?
To make the best use of your 30-minute visit, we recommend having students prepare questions ahead of time.
How does a book club remain eligible for free author visits?
In order to remain eligible for free author visits each book club must read at least two books by our participating Musas per semester.
Can the author visit be done in person if the author is local to me?
This will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the participating author.
What if I’m not part of a school, library, or organization? Can I still start a student book club?

Is there an age requirement for book club participants?

Is there a minimum number of books a book club must read in order to remain eligible? Is there a maximum number of books a book club can read?
The minimum number of books a book club must read in order to remain eligible is two per semester. There is no maximum.
