ABOUT ANDREA...
Andrea grew up in the Great Plains of South Dakota, surrounded by grasslands, cornfields, and brothers. Raised on dirt bikes, outside time, and homemade tortillas she often grappled with life in between as a Mexican-American kid in the 80s Heartland. Delighted by stories, she filled her days browsing the bookmobile, creating her own books, choreographing dances, and directing plays starring her reluctant siblings.
For 20 years she continued to weave stories through her creative work in advertising and design. After living in 6 cities and 3 countries, Andrea reconnected with her love of children's books in Denver, where she now lives with her family.
Vibrant worlds filled with colorful characters, unapologetic misfits, and curious observers bring her joy. Stories told with wonder, mischief, warmth, and whimsy capture her heart. Themes of belonging, connection, family lore, and everyday magic speak to her soul.
