2025 Madrina Mentor
Elizabeth Lilly
Learn about your mentor:
Preferred Age Category: Picture Books Preferred Genre or Sub-Genres: Any As a mentor I love working on: Narrative structure and storytelling for illustrators--helping illustrators get a handle on writing strong stories and finding their inner confidence as a writer in addition to illustrating. Also making characters narratively and visually stronger and more interesting. And helping illustrators find a visual style that's original and unique to them. Areas of expertise/strengths as a mentor: I'm a college illustration professor so I'm pretty good at helping people refine their visual voice and push themselves to the next level with their illustrations. And I'm good at helping creators rewrite/restructure/redraw works that you might be stuck on or don't know what to do with next. Areas of weakness as a mentor: Definitely not great at querying help because I don't have any experience with querying myself. |
